WorkBC Sooke unveiled its shiny new digs on Friday to an enthusiastic crowd that included politicians, dignitaries, staff and those who worked behind the scenes to bring the building to life.

Speeches from Langford-Juan de Fuca MLA Ravi Parmar, Sooke Coun. Al Beddows, Karen Blackman, Assistant Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, market services division, and Sooke WorkBC Centre manager Jen Mac Main spoke about how the new facility at 2096 Church Rd. will better serve people looking for assistance in finding employment.

“We are so proud to have a beautiful space like this to welcome job seekers in Sooke,” Mac Main said.” It’s been a long wait for us. COVID put a pause on things, so this has been years in the making. I think this space will elevate people and get them into the right mindset for finding work.”
