Sooke's brave and fearless take the plunge on New Year's Day.

The brave and the foolhardy headed into the water at Whiffin Spit on January 1 for the annual Polar Bear Swim sponsored by the Otter Point Volunteer Fire Department. The annual event draws scores of people to the spit, where they take the obligatory dunk into the briny on New year’s Day.
