The 2015 London Drugs BC Amateur Photographer of the Year contest brought photographers from all over BC last weekend to compete in a 3-day tournament at the Abbotsford International Airshow.

From over 2,000 entries, 70 finalists were invited to compete at the Abbotsford International Air Show, shooting their best photos and keeping up with daily challenges. Finalists arrived from every corner of BC, including the Kootenays, Greater Vancouver, Vancouver Island, the Fraser Valley, the Thompson-Okanagan, and the Cariboo.

Photographers were challenged with shooting the best in-air, ground, and crowd photographs, but were also tested with a mystery "wild card" photo revealed each day. Some amazing shots were captured at the show, as performances from the US Air Force F-22 Raptor, European Breitling Jet Team, and Canadian Snowbirds and Sky Hawks Parachute team showcased their talents in the sky.

One of our youngest contestants, Larissa Price from Langley, said she was excited to be a part of the 2015 BC Amateur Photographer of the Year contest.

"I'm so excited to be here," she said at the Air Show right before uploading her final entry.

The photographers now wait as their images are submitted to a judging panel, who will determine who will win the title of the Next Generation 2015 BC Amateur Photographer of the Year.
