Central Saanich Police seize $50,000 worth of drugs, $35,000 in cash

A 28-year-old Central Saanich man was arrested at approximately 1 p.m. on Jan. 31, along with $50,000 worth of drugs and $35,000 in cash that was seized by Central Saanich Police.

The local department, supported by the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1500-block of Keating Cross Road. Officers found what is believed to be cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA, Xanax, magic mushrooms, oxycodone, morphine and LSD along with the cash.

A Mercedes worth approximately $50,000 was also seized.

Police are recommending a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

“Our police service carried out a thorough investigation upon receiving information from the public on drug trafficking within our community,” said Deputy Chief Derren Lench. “We share the concerns of the citizens we serve regarding the dangers of drugs being sold. Our service appreciates the assistance of several policing partners including the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP, Victoria Police Department and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team.”
