Cougar spotted in Saanich

Saanich Police received a report of a cougar sighting in the 600 block of McKenzie Avenue at 4:20 p.m.Wednesday.

Saanich Police conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate the animal. Conservation officers were notifiied, but did not attend. Area residence are advised to use caution while walking in the area and to secure small pets.
