Refurbished Savory is launched May 16 at Park Isle Marine just west of Sooke.

Boat owner John Boquist and partner Robert Chouinard are preparing to sail the 42-foot, 17- ton steel-hull vessel to Hawaii in July. If all goes as planned the trip will take 18 days.

The craft is one of only a handful of boats which have launched at the spacious facility which, by early summer, will be capable of handling vessels of 72-feet, 75-tonnes, and drafts of as much as eight-and- a-half feet.
