Metchosin council is asking the public what they think about a nano-brewery being set up in the old Metchosin school building.
Councillors voted to send letters to residents in the area surrounding the proposed brewery before they make a decision on whether to grant a liquor license.
The company, Mile Zero Brewing, is looking to set up a nano-brewery, making only 150 litres of beer per batch. The owner, Michael Morgan first pitched the idea at a council meeting in June 2020. During that meeting, Morgan said the plan will be to focus on four to five seasonal beers to start. There were also plans for a tasting room, serving three 375 millilitre samples of beer per adult, with a potential to expand offerings in the future.
People who live within 60 metres of the property or along Happy Valley Road between Metchosin and Rocky Point roads can submit their feedback before Feb. 18.
