The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has announced plans to install reflective delineators on the centre line of the Trans-Canada Highway between Leigh Road and West Shore Parkway in Langford.
Crews will begin installing the 250 “picket” delineators over a 1.25-kilometre section to help motorists navigate the highway curve.
Langford Mayor Stew Young said the delineators were a “good immediate step,” adding that he’d like permanent safety solutions to finish construction in the next three to four months.
“The Community wants to see the final work done on the barrier and the four laning,” he added.
In a statement, the ministry noted it is committed to a project that expands that section of highway to four lanes and adds median barriers. More on that project will be revealed later this spring.

Construction will be done over three nights this week, starting at 8 p.m. and ending by 6 a.m., according to the media release.
“All travellers are reminded to obey construction signs and speed limits, and to watch for workers and traffic control personnel,” it stated.
