A mudslide at about 11 p.m. on Monday night resulted in two trees coming to rest against power lines on Sheringham Hill at West Coast Road.

Although B.C. Hydro attended the scene and removed some of the troublesome trees, one tree remains supported by the hydro lines and no crews remain on site.

The area, about 200 meters East of the Shirley Community Hall, remains restricted to single lane traffic and the RCMP have advised extreme caution when travelling past that location.

RCMP report that normal traffic flow will resume just as soon as the trees are removed.

More information will be posted as the situation progresses.
