With a provincial election five months away, three political parties are still searching for candidates in the new riding of Langford-Juan de Fuca.

The Vancouver Island Party, B.C. Conservatives and B.C. Green Party have made a call out for potential candidates. The B.C. Green Party expects to nominate a candidate in January.

The B.C. Liberals announced entrepreneur Cathy Noel as their candidate in November, while the NDP nominated John Horgan, who is MLA for Juan de Fuca. Horgan is also the provincial leader of the NDP.

In the last election, the B.C. NDP’s John Horgan won the riding by 5,218 votes.

The provincial election is May 9.
