A popular holiday treat from a local bakery has been recalled due to an undisclosed allergen found in the product.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a recall notice Thursday for Portofino European Bakery brand gluten-free almond stollen due to undeclared wheat.

A representative with CFIA could not confirm whether the recall was triggered during a spot check by the agency or whether it was flagged by a consumer.

The class 3 recall – low risk – is for Portofino European Bakery gluten-free almond stollen (700 grams) with best before dates of Dec. 26, 27 and 28.

The UPC codes involved are 6 61172 02077 9 and 6 61172 01002 2.
