Sooke man faces numerous drug charges

The 30-year-old man, whose name won’t be released until formally charged, was arrested in November for suspected drug trafficking.

A Sooke man arrested in November for various drug offences will make his first court appearance in Victoria provincial court later this month.

The 30-year-old man, whose name won’t be released until formally charged, was arrested in November for suspected drug trafficking.

A search warrant was served at the man’s residence in the 6700 block of Eustace Road in Sooke where police found several pounds of drugs, a piston, ballistic vest and more than $7,000 in cash.

RCMP Cpl. Dawn Gilhen said the man faces eight charges: possession of a prohibited substance for the purpose of trafficking, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of prohibited weapons, unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm and possession of body armor without a permit.
