Last Saturday held a series of unfortunate events for a Sooke RCMP officer and Mystic Beach visitor.
The Sooke RCMP and Shirley Fire Department were called to an incident at Mystic Beach, in which a man had fallen down a ravine and broke both of his ankles.
Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur said while the RCMP officer was on his way to rescue the injured man, he also slipped and broke his arm.
McArthur said the officer is still in the hospital because of his injury.
There has been no word of he might return.
