UPDATE: Sprinkler tampering triggers false fire call at Langford apartment building

West Shore RCMP originally reported a structure fire in the 600-block of Goldstream Avenue

Langford Fire Rescue was called to an apartment building on Goldstream Avenue Monday morning for what it believed may be a structure fire.

Upon arrival at the 600-block address though, crews quickly discovered the cause of the call was a tampered with sprinkler system, not a fire.

Cpt. Paul Obersteller said there is no damage to the building and they are investigating who may have tampered with the system.

West Shore RCMP had asked the public to avoid the area while fire crews were on scene.
