Todd Creek Trestle closed for repair

CRD working with engineers to determine what work needs done

The Todd Creek Trestle on the Galloping Goose Trail near the Sooke Potholes is being temporarily closed for repairs.

Andy Orr, senior manager of communications at the Capital Regional District, said three of the support posts for the trestle were found to have failed.

“CRD Regional Parks staff commissioned an engineering assessment of the trestle, and the engineer recommended that the trestle be closed pending a more detailed evaluation of repair requirements,” said Orr.

He said details on the repairs are not available at this time, but they will hopefully be getting recommendations from engineers within the next week that will provide more information on what work needs to be done.
