Two-vehicle collision shuts down Sooke Road for hours

Both drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic near Saseenos Elementary was brought to a standstill around noon today following a two-vehicle collision at the Sooke Road (Highway 14) and Idlemore intersection.

According to police, the driver of the red Mazda had just turned left going westbound on Sooke Rd from Idlemore Rd when the driver of the green BMW collided into it at speed.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Local RCMP temporarily blocked off Sooke Road and traffic was diverted through the area via Kaltasin Road until the accident scene was cleared out.
