Drivers can expect winter driving conditions on Highway 1 from Saanich through Mill Bay.
A travel advisory took effect Thursday morning between Tillicum Road and Butterfield Road – including the Malahat section of the highway.
Crews continue to work through roads in priority order after heavy snowfall Wednesday night, according to a tweet from Emcon Services Inc, the contractor responsible for the work. The advisory also notes drivers should avoid travel if not prepared.

Heavy snowfall impacted roads across Greater Victoria Thursday morning. Saanich police also asked drivers to delay travel if possible to allow crews to work.
“If you must drive expect delays, drive relative to the road conditions and allow extra stopping distance,” the department advised.
All roads around Mount Douglas Park have been closed by emergency services, a Tweet from Saanich Parks, Recreation and Community Services said.

“We don’t have to say that roads are slippery as you should know this by now. Please adjust your driving behaviours, keep your distances and slow down if you must go on the road,” West Shore RCMP tweeted.
