VIDEO: Four lost airmen laid to rest in Victoria, 72 years after disappearance

The men have been listed as missing on the National War Memorial in Ottawa, the centre of Canada's Remembrance Day ceremonies.



Four airmen were finally laid to rest on Monday, November 10, 2014 – 72 years after they and their aircraft disappeared after leaving Victoria, B.C on a World War II training mission in 1942.

The plane – an Avro Anson – was discovered in October, 2013 near Port Renfrew, B.C., on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

The four men – Calgary-born Sgt. William Baird and Englishmen Pilot Officer Charles George Fox, Pilot Officer Antony William Lawrence, and Sgt. Robert Ernest Luckock – have been added to the National War Memorial in Ottawa, listed as missing.
