C. Jane Jowett, passed away at home on April 4th, 2018 after a 5 1/2 year battle with cancer. Jane was born on August 4th, 1956 to E. Catherine Jowett and John W. Jowett in Belleville, Ontario.
She is survived by her brothers, Dave, Mike, Ted, Gerry, Peter, and her daughter Catherine.
She had a gift for tutoring that impacted many lives since she started the Jowett Learning Centre in 1991. Her work tutoring those with Autisim and Asbergers, helping parents get government funding to cover the costs, is an example of her dedication.
Jane was truly passionate about fishing and being outdoors. She took every opportunity to share this with others, including impromptu lessons, how to fly fish, on her road. During her life she also worked with Amnesty International and volunteered with local RCMP. She gave herself freely, usually caring for others more than herself.
A celebration of life potluck will be held at the Otter Point Fire Hall, 3727 Otter Point Rd, 1 pm, Saturday, April 14th.
