It is with great sorrow to announce the sudden passing of Chrystine Steele. Chrys is survived by her husband of 53 years Robert G Steele, two sons Jason (Jessica), Shawn ( Amanda) and 7 grandchildren one cousin Sharon Pine (Jim) . Chrys was an avid animal lover and left behind 4 horses, a dog and 5 cats.

Predeased by her parents Brodie and Margorie Quick. Chrys was born in Victoria B.C. Jan 6,1945 , and grew up in Saanich B.C. Chrys married Robert G Steele June 6,1965 who was in the Canadian

Navy (RCN). They lived in Esquimalt, Langford Colwood,Comox and Metchosen before settling in Shirley B.C., where they continued to raise their two boys and a menagerie of animals. Chrys raised the two boys while Robert was in the Navy devoting her time to her family, later once the boys were older she would work for Metchosen Home Support as a Homemaker. Chrys attended UVIC and trained for Geriatric Care. When Metchosen home support was closed several years later, Chrys decided to open her own Business - West Coast Homemaking Service. Chrys was a devoted person and her clients loved and depended on her for more than just homecare.

When Robert and Chrys decided to leave the island, they choose Horsefly BC and relocated here in July 2008. Chrys formed friendships and used to go on walks with some of the women in Horsefly in the early days of her life in Horsefly, she frequented the library and was an avid reader. Chrys was a founding member and an integral part S.A.W.S.(Seniors Activity and Wellness Society) in Horsefly, holding the position of Secretary. She was learning more about Photography and was working on her family genealogy at her passing. She was a talented cook, Photographer, tailor, quilter and continued to do some of these at the discretion of her arthritis.

As a grandmother Chrys remember each birthday and each holiday for the grandchildren, and loved getting photos in the mail or chatting online with them using Facebook

Chrystine (Chrys) will be missed by all who knew her and all who loved her. There will be Celebration of Life scheduled in Horsefly at a later date.
