In Loving Memory ~
With comfort in our hearts, and loving family at her side for her final days. We would like to share that our mother, Diane Zelenko quietly passed away on August 11, 2024, at the age of 77.
She is now at peace and following the path of her next journey.
Diane leaves her loving family to cherish memories; daughter, Karen Boudewyn (Jason), grandkids Avery and Cameron, son, Trent Pitre (Caitlin), grandkids Luke, Jackson, Beau, Madilynne, Louella, sister Faye Bligh and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Predeceased by her parents Luella & Jack Zelenko and Chris Zack.
Mom spent her entire life in Sooke, attended Jordon River School and later becoming the All Sooke Day Queen. She was a compassionate loving mother who loved gardening and nurturing her flowers, her vegetables and her fruit trees. In the late 1970's and early 80's some may remember Diane as the "Story Lady" on Shaw Cable.
Later in life she become a community home support worker where she was able to share her personal care and natural kindness with others. Sharing her love and making a difference in people's lives was very rewarding for her.
We would like to thank the wonderful teams of support workers at Sooke Home Care Support and Better at Home, over the last year where she received the same loving care, she was able to share with others. Special thanks to Dr. Emma Jackson and the caring staff at VGH who ensured she was comfortable in her final days.
At mom's request there will not be a formal service. What would make her happy is if anyone reading this would take a moment to be kind to others and simply make someone smile.
