Dwight passed peacefully at his home in Sooke at age 93. Dwight is predeceased by his wife Shirley in 1994.

Dwight enjoyed a long career as an architect after graduating from the University of Manitoba. Many of the buildings he designed can still be seen throughout Winnipeg. Dwight was active in the Royal Canadian Legion in Winnipeg and Sooke, holding various executive positions. He was also active in the Rotary Club and was instrumental in starting the Sooke Rotary Club. Dwight enjoyed curling, gardening and walleye fishing on the prairies. He could be seen each day at 5:00 sitting on his deck, enjoying his ocean view while sipping a glass of white wine. Dwight was survived by his 3 children Daryl (Mark), Drew (Eileen) and Bruce as well as three grandchildren Natalie, Noel and Liam.

A celebration of life will be held at The Sooke Legion at Noon on Saturday, January 21st. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the infrastructure fund at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 54 in Sooke.
