Lillian Easton, (Williams) 1921- 2016

Passed away peacefully in her sleep at age 94

Lillian was born to John Christmas, and Elizabeth Williams in Victoria, March 22 1921. She grew up one of 4 girls in a family of five, and was an early morning, milk-truck-delivery-driver for Island Farms. As a young adult and an early feminist, she married her husband Ed in 1943, and with Ed enjoyed their years raising 3 children in the Cedarhill area of Victoria, later moving to Colwood with Ed as proprietors of the Wedgwood Motel, then to Sooke, and eventually to the Parksville area to be close to family. Always proud to be an island girl. Lil had many strong beliefs, interests, and adventures that included painting, reading, gardening, and travelling with her family and friends. Lil was a lifelong supporter of the NDP, Tommy Douglas, and her friends, The Honorable Dave Barrett and wife Shirley. She also was involved with Eastern Star as a Worthy Matron. Always a lady of grace, manners, and intelligence, with a keen sense of humour her presence will be missed by all who knew her. No more of that beautiful penmanship in her Christmas cards and letters that all enjoyed to receive through the years. She was predeceased by her husband Ed, (1986) her son, Gary (2010), and brother David and sisters Miriam, Phyllis, and Edith. Survived by her son Michael, and daughter Karen (Mark), 3 grandchildren Brian, Clay, and North (Rachelle), and 10 great grandkids as well as many nieces, nephews and friends, and of course Marnie. Lillian’s family would like to thank the 2nd floor staff at Qualicum Manor in Qualicum Beach who looked after her comfort in her final weeks.

Lillian loved her family, and knew her family loved her. michael.easton@gmail.com
