Edward passed peacefully at the age of 86. He was predeceased by wife Carol Ann. He is fondly remembered by sister Anne, son Rob (Melissa), son Steve (Sue), and daughter Charissa; grandsons Oliver and Aodhan; nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ed was born and raised in Worsley, Alberta by Hans and Mona. He studied at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary and worked in the logging industry as a driver and heavy duty mechanic in Hazelton, BC, where he raised his family. After retiring, Ed moved to Sooke, BC in 2012 to live with Steve and Sue and his grandsons. He was an avid walker and was a regular member of the Seaparc walking group in Sooke. He loved driving his grandchildren wherever they needed to go, and enjoyed pizza nights with his family on Friday nights.
Ed was a member of St Mary's Catholic parish in Hazelton and St Rose of Lima Catholic parish in Sooke.
We would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Sunset Lodge in Victoria for the care they provided to Ed in his final months.
