After a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis, it is with profound sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, partner and friend. Elizabeth (Betty) Vowles is predeceased by her partner Toby Bjerke (1992), her mother Florence Robinson (2007) and her son Raymond (Chummy) Vowles (2008). Mom leaves behind her loving partner Bob Davies; her daughter-inlaw Holly Vowles (Chum) and granddaughter Rachel; daughters, Melanie Michelsen and Michelle (Greg) Eveleigh and grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth and Hayden; son Wayne Vowles and grandsons, Dwayne and Matthew; and son Rod (Laura) Vowles and grandson Mitchell. Mom leaves behind her long time friend Mick Michelsen (Dad), Sheila Parkinson, sister Lillian (Mae) Clark and many more relatives and friends. Thank you very much to Dr. Robin Saunders and the nurses on 6A/B South for their compassion during this difficult time. Mom, throughout our lives, we will cherish and hold close your unconditional love for us. There are so many fond memories we will keep close to our hearts. We find solace and comfort in knowing that your hope was to one day see your loved ones again in the new system. We love you very much. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sooke Museum.
