In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jacqueline Marie Colliou, age 67, beloved sister, aunt, and friend. Jackie died peacefully with family by her side at home in Sooke, on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, after a 2 1⁄2 year battle with lung cancer.
Jackie grew up and lived in St. Laurent and Winnipeg, MB, until she moved to Sooke in 2006. Her quiet nature and love of children served her well as a childcare worker and children were naturally drawn to her.
Jackie's love of animals began from a young age, and she had many cats and dogs throughout her life. Since 2007, her dog, Big Boy, (BB), had been a constant companion as they enjoyed many beach adventures.
Jackie valued and appreciated the ongoing love and support of her many friends in the Sooke Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the doctors and nurses involved in Jackie's care since receiving her diagnosis. We truly appreciate the compassionate and capable care Jackie received during her last days from all those involved in her palliative care, from the nurses (a special thank you to Sasha) and homecare team of Island Health and the Sooke Hospice.
A memorial service will be held on Zoom on November 27, 2021, at 2 pm. Email bigboynme@gmail.com for instructions.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Sooke Hospice Society.
