MacLean, John passed away on February 19, 2017 in Sooke, B.C. age 52 years. Born in London Ontario January 27, 1965. Predeceased by his step-father Bob Harrett (2013). Survived by Denise and their children Aydan and Michael, his mother Sheila Harrett and by sisters: Sandy Iredale and Sherry Schmidtperer, niece Bethnay Eybergen, nephews: Benjamin Eybergen, Ethan and, Joseph Currah, Adam James, Anthony MacLean, grand niece Julianne Grapes grandnephew Dorian Grapes. Sadly missed by his step-sister Sandra Lang. John Joined the Canadian Forces in 1987 where he was posted to CFB Esquimalt as an Ammunition Technician. After completing his term of Service, he transitioned into a position at Canadian tire in Langford as an Automotive technician and remained there for over 25 years.

John and Denise settled in Sooke, B.C. In 1991 and raised their family. He was active in his community and became a volunteer firefighter in 2001 and remained so while also working on the fire trucks for the Sooke Fire Department for 16 years until his sudden passing.

John’s hobbies included back road biking and exploring and loved to cook and entertain family and friends. Many thanks to the Sooke Fire Department for their overwhelming continued support to John and his family over the years.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Sooke Fire Department on Sunday March 05,2017 at 4:00 P.M. Everyone welcome and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Sooke Fire Association would be greatly appreciated.
