KIP ORCUTT

JUNE 23, 1949-

APRIL 30, 2011

Forever loved by his wife, Mary and children, Mark, Mollie and Ella. The grand kids, Reen, Caden and Iley loved to come visit Grandpa Kip and dance to his guitar or ride in his backhoe and play with cars. Kip was very artistic. Whatever he could see in his mind he could create, engines, houses, kid’s costumes, cabinets and so much more. Music was closest to his heart. What he loved most was picking, good friends, good times, and good music. He found his raison d’etre when he began building and fixing musical instruments. His talent as a Luthier echoed his love for music. His kids will remember him as making the best pancakes and spaghetti; fixing anything they brought to him, whether it be cars, instruments or jewelry, and teaching them to “recognize assholes on sight”. His last gift to his wife was the dream house she always wanted, he always did whatever he could to make her happy. Kip says “thanks for the picking” to every bluegrass lover that had the pleasure to pick with him. There will not be a service held in Kips honor. At a later date we will have a celebration of life.
