It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mabel Gniwodda. Mabel was born in Bootle, England in 1935. After graduating from administrative college, Mabel immigrated to Canada where she began her career working with the Canadian government. In Canada she met Frank, her soon to be husband. Together, they raised a family of three boys in southern Ontario. Following Frank's passing, the family migrated to B.C. where Mabel spent many years at her home in Sooke. Mabel loved walking the beaches, swimming, and hiking. Due to early onset dementia, Mabel moved to Chilliwack to be closer to her son Roger, and her two granddaughters, Erin and Frankie. After a four-year battle, Mabel passed away in the comfort of her family's arms on December 11, 2019. Mabel will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and will always be remembered as a happy, hardworking, adventurous, and joyful wife, mother, Oma, and friend.
