In Loving Memory ~

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dad, Raymond R Pimlott on October 7, 2024 at the age of 90. He fought the good fight to the end surrounded by his loving family .

He was a beloved father to five daughters: Katherine (Alden), Karen (Jim), Deanna (Bill) Christina (Steven (d)), Linda (John); grandfather to 14 grandchildren; and great grandfather to 19 great grandchildren. A beautiful legacy.

Dad devoted his life to his family and his community. He was known and loved by many, and was an integral part of Sooke's history. Part of the local logging industry from a young age, he drove Pops' truck - one of the first on the island - from the age of 15 before working his way up through the ranks to Manager at Butler Bros and then Pacific Logging, after which he worked as a contract manager for several years until he retired.

His sons-in-law all ended up in the industry so logging became a part of the family fabric, along with hard work and dedication. He also gave his time to serving as a volunteer fireman and, later, Fire Chief in Sooke for many ears.

Finally, he was also just a wonderful person - one of the good ones. As any of his family, friends and colleagues will attest, he met everyone with a smile and always had time for a story and a laugh.

Dad spent the last few years at Ayre Manor, a place he loved because of the caring and dedicated staff, especially Nancy. Also Dr. Rabien, Thank you so much for all you do.

Dad was predeceased by the love his life Glenda Marie in 2022, his brother Gerry and his parents George and Anita Pimlott.

Dad leaves behind him a life well lived and a legacy of perseverance, generosity and love. We are so grateful for the years we had with him, and will miss him dearly.

Mom is waiting with open arms.

Together again.
