STEWART, ELIZABETH, Betty GESMAN

September 3, 2010

GesmanOBIT

Betty, who will be dearly missed, passed peacefully and is now pain free after her second courageous battle against cancer.

Born to parents ARCHIBALD and MARGARITE LAMBERT in the town of LEITH, EDINBURGH U.K. Betty grew upwith her younger brother Jack, and favored music with nursing as her first career.

As a young woman, Betty came to Canada where she met Johannes (John) whom she soon married while pursuing a new career working with hearing impaired children.

John and Betty had two children, Ian and Elizabeth. Life tested the strengths of both parents when their youngest child, Elizabeth Elaine Gesman passed at only seven days young. Betty became deeply depressed only to discover her inner strength and courage to go on and continue a “Love of Life” for her son and husband.

While Betty put others first and sometimes viewed herself as a bit of a loner, she was known as a supportive “giver”, that Loved Life and others. Her wisdom and caring nature allowed her to be tolerant and understanding. Her compassionate, fair loving nature was an asset to all who knew her. Betty’s hobbies included quiet times gardening, reading, and solving puzzles. Her other hobby, knitting, supplied family, friends, customers, and pets with many custom hand knit items.

Elizabeth (Betty) leaves behind an extended family in the U.K. Brother Jack and his wife Heather, their son’s and families of Rod and Ian together with dear departed daughter Jenny and her surviving family. Here in Canada she leaves her many friends, her faithful dog “Monty”, Her son Ian, his wife Holly and cat “Missy”.
