Camera needed in roundabout

On Sept. 1 at about 4 p.m., I was turning onto the Sooke roundabout when a red car came driving through without even stopping.

I laid on the horn the driver, so he would acknowledge that he was in the wrong, but it did not matter to him.

I continued on to when I caught up to him at the turn lane into Village Foods. We were side by side, he slowed down, looked me in the face and had a big grin on his face, as to say “I beat you through the round about, ha ha.”

Then he continued to go quickly to the lights at Otter Point and Sooke roads and ran a red light. This is not the first time or second time, but at least the fifth time this has happened.

I am getting sick and tired of people cutting me off and not paying attention to the rules of the roundabout. I am sure there are many more people out there with the same situation, or even worse.

So before a serious accident happens in and around the roundabout, I think and probably many more people think the same thing, we should get a camera put out there, so that these bad and reckless drivers get caught and are fined by police.

Who is all for it? Say I.
