Sooke council would be well advised to lower the CAO’s salary and engage someone to answer their correspondence.
Some months ago, I saw an advertisement from council asking for residents who were interested in sitting on committees. I filled out the required application, and never heard another word.
A few weeks ago I sent emails to each councillor and the mayor addressing a concern I had regarding the issue of residents and bear attractants. I did not receive a response.
I then wrote to the bylaw officer asking for information regarding a bylaw. Again, no response.
Sooke residents might be more supportive of the work of staff and council if they felt that there was actually someone at Municipal Hall that was listening.
