LETTER: Faux Stonehenge an artist’s folly

Re: Stonehenge project gets rock reception (News, Sept. 18)

A faux Stonehenge for Whiffin Spit? No thanks.

Aside from Coun. Tony St. Pierre’s observation that this rock pile doesn’t represent local geology, the price is also ridiculous. And it does indeed look like a playground just waiting to break young bones.

It looks like some artist was working overtime to make a name for themselves on this folly.

Somebody tell me again why simply placing memorial plaques on park benches along the spit’s path is a bad idea? Anybody?
