The road to Sooke was originally to be four lanes. I talked to several people in Sooke and they all agree this is true.
So why are they talking about fixing the old road? The cost to straighten the old road would probably cost more than the new one. That’s why they started with the four-lane plan.
The government just plain ran out of money and stopped. Both plans are still there.
