LETTER: Seniors left out in planning

Weekly letters to the editor from within the Sooke community.

In reading about Sooke council’s plans for 2017, one important item was left out.

There are many seniors in Sooke as evidenced on Thursday at Western Foods. SEAPARC Leisure Complex also has a program with low bounce waterworks activity attended by many seniors.

When I came here 11 years ago we had a vibrant club in the building which now houses the mortgage company and the dentist. The room was full every day with activities ranging from cards, bingo, scrabble, or just friendly conversations.

But now we have no place to socialize, where we can have tea or a coffee and sit down for a chat. What a wonderful thing it would be. Perhaps when they expand Ayre Manor there would be room for us.
