LETTERS: ‘Safe’ injection sites don’t enhance our society

Re: End the stigma of addiction (Letters, Nov. 1)

No thanks John and Jennifer Hedican. If you want to turn Courtenay into a no-guilt, no-consequences druggie friendly community then go for it, but don’t preach for Sooke to do the same.

By the way, I sense that some parental guilt may be at work here. And it starts with having the cause and effect of drug addiction directly backwards. Addiction starts as a choice; obviously the wrong one. Accommodating it with “safe” injection sites does not enhance our society, but tries to mask it as simply a “disease”.
