Letters: Stealing flag an act of disrespect

Thieves who stole the Legion's Canadian flag are thoughtless

While driving by our Legion here in Sooke, I saw that our Canadian flag was gone. I stopped to go in to the Legion to see why it was down. This, on the day after Canada Day. I was told somebody was on the roof and cut the flag away with a knife.

I would like to say those who were responsible for this degrading act have no regard for Canada or those who died over the years, serving our country in different wars. Our Legion represents the many who paid for your freedom, mainly through donations paid for by many activities held in the Legion, such as meat draw, many dinners, etc.

I can only hope some time in the future you may look back at what you and your buddies have done. For what??
