Marital status does matter in Sooke

Re: Marital status is not relevant (Letters, Oct. 10)

Doni Eve’s assertion that marital status is not relevant does not hold water.

As far as arithmetic goes, two out of seven votes is way to high on Sooke council. Twenty eight percent of the council voting out of one household has elements of potential danger. That Jack Layton and wife Olivia Chow served together on Toronto’s city council is not a good comparison as they would be two out of 47 councillors – or four per cent of the votes; quite negligible in my view.

I think one of them should withdraw. I don’t mind which one.
