I agree that the grey wall at Cedar Grove mall is ugly. However, the removal of the trees has greatly improved the view.
In my opinion, we in Sooke do not take full advantage of the beautiful harbour and ocean views which would be available if we simply took down some trees.
Tourists driving through town would hardly know we are a waterfront community. Sooke is overgrown and would look much nicer if a truck load of chainsaws worked their way along Sooke Road from Saseenos to Whiffin Spit.
I am sure the huggers knee jerk reaction to this idea will be ferocious but I think Sooke would look much nicer without all those 50- foot Christmas trees blocking the view and falling on the power lines every winter.
