EMCS volleyball squad taps first wins

This year’s team comprised of girls from all grades

The Edward Milne community school senior girls volleyball team started its season on good footing last week by posting a 3-2 record.

First up for the local squad was Parkland secondary. After narrowly losing the first game 26-24, EMCS came back to win the second game 25-18. In the tie-breaker, another close game, EMCS lost 26-24.

The local girls rallied from their Parkland loss to beat Westshore Brookes in two straight, 25-9 25-18.

This year EMCS team is comprised of girls from all grades. Returning from last year’s club are seniors Christina Seabrook, Kylie Katz and Chevy Alexander.

EMCS is set to take on Lambrick secondary on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the girls volleyball bottle drive on Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the corner of Sooke and Phillips Roads.
