Eighteen-year-old ice dancer and mens’ figure skater Leonardo Maekawa has returned from his first trip to Halifax with a fifth place finish in the Canada Winter Games competition which wrapped up last Sunday.The Sooke resident had been expected home on March 1 and had not been reached for comment as of that time.Earlier this year the skater and his 16-year-old sister Pilar had shown very well in Skate Canada Junior Nationals which had been held in Victoria at the Save-On Food Memorial Centre.
