Pacific FC head coach Pa-Modou Kah and young midfielder Alessandro Hojabrpour both won in their respective categories at the Canadian Premier League end of season’s awards in Toronto.

Kah won the coach of the year award, beating out his Forge FC counterpart Bobby Smyrniotis, nominated for the third year in the row, and Cavalry FC’s head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr., who won the award in 2019.

The PFC coach won after leading the Langford-based club to its first-ever CPL championship title and finals appearance.

Hojabrpour, the goal-scoring hero in the CPL final, was named under-21 player of the year. Having earned his stripes at the Vancouver Whitecaps academy before playing in Bulgaria for a short stint, he beat out Max Ferrari of York United FC, and Victor Loturi, who plays for Cavalry FC.

PFC’s other award nominee was the team’s top scorer Terran Campbell, who lost out for league most valuable player to the Halifax FC Wanderers’ Joao Morelli, who was also the CPL’s top goal scorer.
