Strong showing at SMUS

The EMCS Junior varsity boys rugby team did well at the St. Michaels University School 7’s tournament on May 26. James Lazar is pictured above scampering for yardage.

They finished second in the boys 10-B division, beating Shawnigan 15-5 & Brentwood college 35-0. EMCS faced Claremont for the gold plate but fell short 15-5 so had to settle for the silver. Coach Matt Mortenson says “Every player played above and beyond their coaches’ expectations. They have come a long way since March and will be serious contenders over the next two years.”
