Sooke Lights Up for Santa Parade
This traditional parade features a collection of lighted fire trucks, ambulances, vintage vehicles, floats, dance groups, and of course, Santa! • Parade starts at Sooke Elementary School to Wadams Way, Townsend Road to Evergreen Centre • Dec. 1, 5 p.m.
Moss Cottage Christmas
One of the most popular annual events at Sooke Region Museum. Take a guided tour of historic Moss Cottage with “Aunt Tilly.” Sample a sugarplum in the kitchen where “Alice” is preparing dinner. Enjoy a hot drink and tasty chili while listening to Christmas carolers. This Shining Night
The Sooke Community Choir’s winter concert series. The concert is a collection of beautiful and inspirational music that spans the ages from Mozart to Pentatonix. • Sooke Community Hall • Dec. 6-7 • $20 (16 and under free) • sookecommunitychoir.com.
Festival of Trees
The festival is a community tradition. Thanks to sponsors, local businesses, organizations, and individuals, SEAPARC Leisure Complex is transformed into a lush forest of beautifully decorated trees to raise funds for the B.C. Children’s Foundation. SEAPARC Leisure Complex • Dec. 2-28.
Breakfast with Santa
Join Santa for a breakfast that includes pancakes, sausages and refreshments. There is also an opportunity to have your picture taken with Santa. While focused on children, everyone is invited. • Royal Canadian Legion • Dec. 7, 9-11 a.m. Donations accepted, but not required.
Winter Concert

International Nativity Display

Sooke Santa Run
A well-loved holiday tradition in Sooke, much needed cash and food donations are collected by firefighters in support of the Sooke Christmas Bureau and local families in need. • Throughout Sooke • Dec. 14, 5 p.m.
Holiday Toy Drive
The Renfrew Pub hosts a holiday toy drive featuring live entertainment – and free beer (with a donated toy)! • 17310 Parkinson Rd., Port Renfrew • Dec. 14 (7-10 p.m.; happy hour 3 to 5 p.m.) • Free admission.
Gingerbread House Contest
The West Coast Grill’s ninth annual contest takes place in the lobby of Prestige Oceanfront Resort lobby through the month of December. You can vote on your favourite gingerbread house with all proceeds donated to the Sooke Food Bank.
