With a tradition as rich and colourful as the creations it showcases, the All Sooke Arts & Crafts Christmas Show (ASAAC) has become a staple in the community’s holiday festivities.

This year’s edition promises an eclectic mix of artisans, including candlemakers, jewellers, leatherworkers, knitters, crocheters, natural skincare and tea crafters, bakers, jam enthusiasts, and many more.

ASAAC, a non-profit organization, boasts Sooke, East Sooke, Otter Point, Shirley, Jordan River, and Port Renfrew members.

The show is at the Sooke Community Hall, 2037 Sheilds Rd., and admission is free.

Beyond the glittering array of artisanal goods, the Christmas Craft Show holds space for compassion. The ground floor hosts charitable organizations such as the Sooke Food Bank and the Fire Fighters Fill-a-Truck campaign, underscoring the show’s commitment to giving back to the community.

Culinary delights take center stage with the Sooke Harbourside Lions food concession. Enjoy soups, sandwiches, and renowned borscht and chicken soup.

As visitors explore the market and show their support for artists, they become eligible for prizes. Each purchase earns a ticket to enter a daily draw, which features three gift baskets filled with various treasures from the vendors. This year, there is also a fourth basket, which can be claimed by those who share their feedback through a brief survey.

Photos with Santa Claus are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The show starts Friday (Nov. 17), from noon until Sunday (Nov. 19), concluding at 4 p.m.
