Over 200 Sooke students filled the town with song yesterday in celebration of Music Monday.
Music Monday is an annual initiative that began 12 years ago to celebrate music education in Canada. Schools in Sooke have been participating for eight years.
The students started out singing at the Evergreen Mall Kiosk, and then ventured out to sing at local businesses.
All four Sooke elementary schools, as well as musicians from Journey Middle School, and the EMCS band students participated.
Other schools in the Sooke School District also celebrated Music Monday, meeting at the Q Centre in Colwood for a giant sing-a-long.
Roughly 2300 students filled the arena yesterday to perform.
