Sooke author shortlisted for B.C. literary prize

A Sooke writer is among the nominees for this year’s B.C. and Yukon Book Prizes.

Darrel J. McLeod’s A Season in Chezgh’un will compete for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize, which is awarded to the author of the year’s best works of literary fiction.

Other nominees in the category include Brandon Reid (Beautiful Beautiful) Chelsea Wakelyn (What Remains of Elsie Jane), Hazel J. Plante (Any Other City), and Geoffrey D. Morison (Falling Hour)

The West Coast Book Prize Society will announce its winners in eight categories Sept. 28 during a gala he;d at the University Golf Club in Vancouver.
