Police looking to speak with victim of late-night downtown Victoria assault

Victoria Police Department investigators are looking to speak with the victim of an assault in downtown Victoria on the weekend.

Around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, March 22, officers arrested a man after receiving a report of an assault near the intersection of Yates and Government streets.

While en route, officers were flagged down by an additional victim who had visible but non-life-threatening injuries, and the second victim told police where the suspect was located, but then left the area.

Both assaults are believed to be random, and no weapons were involved. The suspect was later released with an appearance notice to attend a future court date.

Investigators are looking to speak with the unidentified victim or anyone with information on the incident. Those with information can call 250-995-7654, extension 1 and reference file number 24-10011.
