Victim suffers serious injuries after Sidney stabbing

Sidney-North Saanich RCMP are investigating after a report of a stabbing on the corner of Beacon Avenue and Fifth Street.

Police were contacted about the incident at approximately 11 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 3).

Officers responded quickly and located a man suffering from serious injuries.

The victim, who is known to officers, was transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services, where he is currently being treated.

“The Sidney RCMP’s general investigation section has conduct of the investigation and is currently gathering evidence and working to identify the male suspect,” said Const. Tim Cosgrove, Sidney/North Saanich RCMP media relations officer said in a statement.
